Prayer is God’s way of working out His purposes in our lives. Prayer is more than an emotional shout out to God on our behalf or on behalf of a friend in need! Jesus once encouraged His disciples to pray and not to give up. These are challenging words from Jesus! We all have somewhat of a history when it comes to prayer. At times we all pray, and then after a few days our minds wander, and we move on to another spiritual discipline only to quietly return to prayer when a serious need arises again! What would it be like to pray and then to keep on praying? In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. What is Jesus saying here in Matthew 7? Let me paraphrase it: Pray and keep on praying! Jesus said this for a reason. He is not suggesting for us to pray as the hypocrites do with vain repetition. He is teaching us to faithfully pray, and then to keep on praying, believing that our LORD will hear and answer our prayers. In other words, persistence makes a difference in prayer. Crying out to our Heavenly Father is a good thing! Persistence in prayer is a sign of deep faith in God! Let’s be known for seeking the Lord through prayer. As we persist in prayer, God will hear and answer us. Brothers and sisters, we serve a big GOD; through prayer He works! Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. WOW, WHAT A PROMISE!!!

Take a few minutes, and pray as you prepare for Sunday’s services. We will have a time of fellowship beginning at 9:15AM in our Fellowship Hall! Join us, and bring your family. There will be plenty of food, juice and coffee. At 9:45AM our ladies will move to the Sanctuary to be taught by Sarelle Pendergraft. Our men will remain in the Fellowship Hall to continue eating! (Laugh here… it’s a joke!) While our ladies are being taught in the Sanctuary, Austin Pendergraft will teach our men! This is going to be a great day! Our children will be joining us for some food as well!

2018 is shaping up to be a fruitful year of ministry at Grace Church. Let’s LOVE GREENVILLE TOGETHER! Sunday’s Bulletin Insert includes some of our plans for the future. Check them out on Sunday morning!

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

God bless you as you grow in grace!
