As Christians we ought to be most thankful people in all the world! Our Lord watches over us in numerous ways. Think with me for a moment about how good the Lord is to us as His children! First, His presence is guaranteed! He never leaves His own! As a matter of fact, God’s Spirit comforts and guides us with His presence! Secondly, His wisdom leads us as we make decisions that reflect His work in our lives. Daily the Lord works all around us, all the while confirming His presence. Then again, think of the feelings of security that are ours if we get a little down or even depressed! He’s there!!! Jesus validated His love and compassion for us when He was humiliated and died on the cross. Yes, we have much to be thankful for today! Take a few minutes today, maybe even on your break at work to give thanks to your LORD! Paul encourages us to be thankful in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 where he writes, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

This Sunday we are baptizing a number of people in our Morning Worship Service. Baptism means that you have received Christ as your Savior and you are publicly identifying with Him as your Lord. The Great Commission instructs us to baptize followers of Christ. Maybe you have never been baptized. Call me (252-341-4017) or Pastor Jamin (252-902-4805) and we can arrange for you to be baptized this Sunday! Baptism provides every viewer with a clear picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ! Following Christ identifies you as a child of God! Consider Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Last Sunday was a great day at Grace Church! Both morning and evening God’s Word went forth. This Sunday evening (8/13) I will be speaking from Revelation 12, teaching through each verse! I hope you can make it! Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

Christ is all and in all!
