The Bible is filled with promises! Jesus made promises to His disciples and to us as well. One of His promises is found in John 14:3 where Jesus said, “I will come again!” I believe what Jesus said here in John’s Gospel. When Jesus ascended in Acts 1, the angels present said, “Men of Galilee, Why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday He will return from heaven in the same way you saw Him go!” Brothers and sisters, Jesus is coming again! It may be today! Recently a friend of mine asked me “How long will it be before Jesus returns?” My answer to him was, “It may be today!” The Apostle Paul referred to Jesus’ coming again as our “Blessed Hope!” As Christians we must be busy about our Father’s business! We must be busy sharing our faith and reaching out to people who need Christ! Think about how you came to Christ. Surely the Lord used someone to point you to Jesus and salvation! Let’s be that person today. Share your faith, share the Gospel. Tell others about the Lord that saved you… point them to Jesus! Do for others what someone did for you; tell them about Jesus! You will be glad you did, and they will be glad you did as well!
This Sunday is FRIEND DAY at Grace Church. Take a few minutes and pray about who you should invite to church on this special day. I have been praying and inviting friends over the past few days. I am asking the Lord to draw people to Christ on FRIEND DAY! What a great day that would be for one of our friends to trust Christ! The Lord wants to save those around us! The Lord will lead you to just the right people. Pray about it, and trust the Lord to use you. He wants to use you and me! Get busy, and let’s see the Lord do a wonderful work this Sunday at Grace Church!
In closing, it sure is good to be home again. Cheryl and I returned from Kenya, Africa on Tuesday evening at 12:00 am. We were able to join Michael and Amy in Kenya for just less than two weeks. What a great visit! It was Michael’s 40th birthday, and we wanted to surprise him. Michael’s younger brother Adam was part of our surprise. Michael was shocked! He had no idea we were coming!!! Amy did a great job in hiding our surprise birthday visit. It was a tremendous surprise to Michael! I wish you could have been there to see his face when he saw us! He was literally overwhelmed!!! Wow… the Lord is good!
Enjoy your day! Cheryl and I will see you Sunday for FRIEND DAY! We love you, and are so thankful that the Lord has given us this wonderful opportunity to serve Him with you! Serving Jesus together is always better!
Christ Above All!
