Jesus said some radical things to His disciples! For example, He told them in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Think about that… Jesus said the defining mark… the distinctive mark of His disciples would be “ye have love one to another.” Look around you, there are broken and hurting people everywhere. They work with us, they are in our families, they are our best friends! What do they need? They need to know that Jesus loves them and that we love them! Keep in mind that Jesus was about to experience hatred on steroids! Yet, on the cross, Jesus prayed for them! That’s love!!! Understanding His love will no doubt help us to love others as Jesus loved us!
