Hello Grace Church!
It’s been a good week. I trust you’re enjoying it. A couple of days ago I received an email from a young lady from Wilmington. As you know, Cheryl and I moved from there over 22 years ago now. Amber was a young person when we left. Now she’s married and lives in Pennsylvania. Her pastor’s family was vacationing in the Outer Banks here in NC. One of their family members became very ill and needed surgery here in Greenville. Though it was a challenging ordeal we along with the Barbers were able to provide the family with a place to stay while the dad [Michael Kuntz] had surgery. I tell you this because you never know when the Lord may open a door of opportunity for ministry before you. Keep your eyes open and your hearts tender! From Pennsylvania to the Outer Banks, to Greenville, God merged the lives of His people to serve and minister to one another. Our GOD is a big GOD; He’s able to use you and me in ways that we never would have planned. Let Him use you in your family, your neighborhood, and in your church today. Remember this; you’re not alone as a child of God!!! The Lord is seldom early; but He’s never late! HE’S WORKING IN YOU AND FOR YOU RIGHT NOW!
As you know, Sunday is FATHER’S DAY! The Lord is leading me to bring a message from Joshua chapter 1. To say the least, I’m excited about the huge treasure chest of truth the Lord has for us this Sunday morning. As always, your attendance and prayers matter as we gather together. Feel free to invite your family and friends. We’re going to lift up our hearts and voices in praise to our God. HE’S WORTHY! Heaven will be blessed as our singing reaches the heart of our Great God. Summer time offers us all kinds of diversions from church. Stay focused and honor the Lord with your worship, your giving and presence in His house. I’ll guarantee you that someone needing encouragement will be here. If you don’t believe me, try me and see. Who knows, it might even be you! [Grins!]
This past Wednesday evening I was in our Men’s Prayer Group. Yes, we study our Bibles, but we also pray together as well. Learning to pray with others is a beautiful thing. The Lord honors it! Praying together allows us to minister to one another’s needs. I love hearing our men pray. It truly is a touch from heaven hearing my brothers cry out to God sharing their burdens. Here’s one thing I’ve learned. Every week we hear men share their cares and we pray with them seeking God on their behalf. Other classes meet at the 6:30pm hour as well. Come on over! This coming Wednesday we’re hosting our famous POTLUCK DINNER! It begins at 5:30pm. Our choir meets at 6:30pm, as do our children and teens.
Being with you brings great joy to my heart. III John 1:2-4 says, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Together is better!
