Hello Grace Church!
It’s been a hot week for sure; thank the Lord for air conditioning! Thank you for your faithfulness during these summer days. It’s easy to miss church when you’re coming and going during summer vacations and holidays. You have blessed me as I have watched you this summer. You’ve faithfully attended, and you’ve been faithful in your missions giving and weekly support of our church finances. Many churches struggle during the summer months, but we thank the Lord, He has blessed us all! This past Wednesday in our Men’s Bible Study our topic focused on giving. I wish you could have heard the men as they shared how the Lord honored their giving. Their testimonies took us back to II Corinthians 8-9. We read these verses:
2 Corinthians 8:5 and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Isn’t the LORD good? Faithfulness matters for sure! He is faithful to us and we should be faithful to Him as well!
Cheryl and I appreciated your prayers as we visited with our family in Wilmington over the past number of days. Chandra, Ausytn and Cyler were there with us! I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed being with them. Plus, Michael, Amy, MiKenna, Brody and Maverick are there as well. As you know, they just returned from Kenya a couple of weeks ago. We all had a wonderful time. Michael and Amy are on “Home Assignment” preparing for their next mission work. Thank you for your faithful prayer support as they seek the Lord’s direction for their family.
Again, thank you for your faithfulness to our Lord Jesus. What a joy worshiping and serving the Lord with you! You are loved! See you Sunday!
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
