Hello Grace Church!
Recently, as I was studying, I came to I Peter 2:24 and I Peter 3:18. These verses point out the sufferings of Jesus for our sins. Last Sunday we had Communion, and in John 19:1-3 John documents for every reader the graphic beating Jesus endured for our sins. Every slap and every punch that Jesus took was for our sins. 1 Peter 2:24 says, Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 3:18 adds, For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. Take a minute to reflect on the sufferings of Jesus for you. His sufferings led Him to the cross. TAKE SOME TIME… Romans 5:8-9 says, But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. PRAISE HIM!
Our Marriage and Family Conference begins Saturday at 5:30PM with a Grace Church Family Dinner. Please don’t miss these services. Invite your friends for the dinner and the Morning Worship Service. You will not regret it! Pastor Jon and Rebekah Bowman are not strangers to us. They are our dear friends! In recent years they have been engaged in Family Retreats such as the one we are hosting this weekend. I wish we could do more, but this is a start as we seek to minister to families in our church. Building stronger homes and families is crucial. These services can only help… please be here! Call Seth at 252-355-3500 to secure your spot!
Faithfulness Counts is true for every church and for every Christian. Just as Jesus was faithful to His calling as our Savior; we should be faithful to Him as well! His church is alive and well! Be faithful… let’s love Jesus and each other. What better way is there to point others to HIM? Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
