Hello Grace Church!

PRAYER WORKS! Early Monday morning a longtime friend of mine from Wilmington called me. When I answered the phone Kevin said, “Mike, let’s pray together.” Those were refreshing words! One of Kevin’s friends had died unexpectedly at 41 years of age. I asked the Lord to use Kevin and to bless the family of his friend. When I was first became a Christian at the age of 16 a friend of mine told me later that they, along with others, in the Youth Group had been praying for me to be saved PRAYER WORKS… the Lord answered their prayers! Shortly after I became a Christian my pastor Dr. Ray Noland and others encouraged me to pray for the salvation of my brothers and for my parents. That was in the fall of 1968. Over time the Lord answered my prayers as my mother and each of my brothers came to Christ. In the summer of 2008 my Dad also came to Christ. After nearly 40 years of praying the Lord graciously saved my Dad. I said all of this to say once again that PRAYER WORKS! I want to encourage you to pray… it works! Jesus taught His disciples to pray and not to give up! Take some time today, maybe even right now, stop and pray! Like Jesus, Paul encourages us to pray! He said, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing! I sense an urgency in my heart about prayer. I share it with you and encourage you to pray. PRAYER WORKS! The Lord answers prayer; prayers that we pray! James, the brother of Jesus said, “You have not because you ask not!” TAKE SOME TIME TODAY… PRAY!

VISION SUNDAY is this Sunday! Plan to be in Sunday School at 9:45 AM. In the morning service I will share a message entitled, CHRIST ABOVE ALL… A REFLECTION from II Timothy 4:6-8. This is most likely Paul’s last challenge for us before his execution. Paul’s ministry lasted about 30 years. As he came to the finish line, he spoke. Come find out what Paul said to his pastor friend Timothy. You will be blessed and challenged!

God bless you as you serve Jesus today! As you go, know this! You have been prayed for… Lord, use us today to point people to Jesus! You saved us for Your purposes, use us for Your glory! In Jesus name, amen!

Christ Above ALL!
