Jesus said in Mark 10:43-44 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

Jesus was a great example! He taught His disciples how to serve. Jesus told those around Him that He did not come to be served, but to serve! What a powerful life lesson! Jesus went about feeding and healing people. Sure Jesus performed miracles, but as a man He was always looking for ways to touch the lives of people in need! Jesus served poor people! Jesus served hurting people! Jesus served people who had committed great sins! Jesus gave those around Him hope! Every time we serve someone we are showing them Jesus! Right now is a great time to go and serve someone in Jesus’ name! Today is the day! Touch someone today for Jesus’ sake!

Let me encourage you to be praying for our local community. Earlier today I drove out to check on some of our people. Flood waters are rising and they are concerned about their families and their homes! If my home and property were on the verge of being flooded I would want my church family and friends to pray for me! We all know someone who needs our prayers and a helping hand. Do what you can for those in need. Our dinner tonight will be used to serve those around us. If you know anyone needing food for this evening please call me at 252-341-4017. Let’s put feet to our prayers… serve someone today for Jesus’ sake!

Be safe and keep your eyes on Jesus… He is coming again! Revelation 22:20-21 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
